Self-Caring Techniques
Restoration and hope
The strategies on this site have been developed by listening to your voice and are crafted to fit the needs of the people of southwest Minnesota. These methods aim to bring personal healing and development through Mindbody techniques.
Whether you’re a child care provider, teacher, health care worker, have an important place on an assembly line, or are another type of essential worker or service provider, Southwest Initiative Foundation is providing this approach to offer you some relief, to help release your spirit and increase your capacity to take on the world.
Help for Helpers is grounded in Biocognitive Science, a model of learning and healing that considers the detrimental impact of racism, prejudice and implicit bias. Because we do not live and develop within a cultural vacuum, it is important to explore ways in which cultural contexts can both wound and heal.
On this site, you’ll find three sections. The techniques are a series of guided meditations that build your knowledge and practice of self-care as you listen to each episode. The tools to nourish your passion and care for yourself are described in short blogs that are quick and easy to read. And finally we have resources on other sites linked below if you want to explore more on these topics. Enjoy!
